Here is a list of built in rules that may or may not have wording on cards, however these rules must be part of the game to create more realism. These rules will add errata to the cards however cards will not have all these written on text. Players are expected to understand these built in rules in order to play the game effectively. These rules will be added to the Admiral's Handbook for the release of NATO vs. the Blok, however they are legal and authoritative as of the release of the Core set Cube.
1. Canadian ships
For purposes of reality, Canadian ships will not be allowed to be equipped with cruise missiles or nuclear weapons. Some of the ship cards specify they can’t be equipped with cruise missiles but not all of them have this wording. All Canadian ship cards will have the errata that they can’t be equipped with cruise missiles or nuclear weapons.
2. Russian aircraft carriers
Russia to this day is known for equipping their aircraft carriers with offensive weapons like the P-700 Granet anti-ship missile and ASROC weapons. In the game players will be able to equip all weapons types to Eastern Blok carriers.
3. Anti-sub weapons
Torpedoes, ASROCs and Depth Charges are considered anti-sub weapons. SONAR is required to deploy and fire these weapons types. Players can have a SONAR equipped to any fleet ship, or on a defense card equipped to your flagship. If the SONAR leaves the battlefield, the weapon card will remain, however that player won’t be able to fire it again until they gain control of or deploy another SONAR.
4. Guided missiles and subs
Certain guided missile cards are adaptable for subs but certain others won’t be. The cards may or may not specify this so this will be considered built in for errata. All anti-ship missiles going forward will be adaptable to deploy to all standard ship types except when it comes to carriers. Of all the cruise missiles in the game, only the Naval Strike Missile has no sub launched version, so this card can only be deployed to a surface ship.
5. Adaptability
For the sake of the cube game and ease of constructed play many other things will be adaptable and modular. All aircraft carriers will be able to be equipped with aircraft from any faction that could otherwise be equipped. Other ships can carry helicopters and weapons types from any faction that they could normally otherwise carry which doesn’t contradict the above built in rules. Some future cards will state they can only be equipped to certain ship types. These are adaptable only for ships of that type.
