Also with the Beta 0.3 version of the plugin I will be introducing a 7th main card type, Personnel. Personnel cards will be paid for at time of play, so players must have enough requisition to pay for them. They can only be deployed during your main phase and have to rest until your next upkeep step before they can be used for combat or instant affects. There will be 5 sub-types of personnel:
1. Marines: These guys will be able to do combat against ships or defend your ships against other marines. Marines will be able to attack surface ships including players' flagships, resources and construction items. Marines can't attack the turn they're deployed and tap when entering combat. When marines attack a ship defended by marines players will roll once, attack vs. the total defense of the marines and base defense of the ship. The winner will deal damage equal to the difference, counting a 1 as critical. Damage above the HP of the defending marines is spread to the rest of the ship starting with equipped cards. Multiple defending marine squads will roll a combined defense roll as they are working together. Marines that attack undefended units the defending player will only roll the unmodified defense of the targeted card. Players will be able to equip 1 Marine squad to frigates and destroyers, 2 to cruisers and flagship, and 4 to battleships and carriers.
2. Specialized Crew Chiefs: These are the crew leaders, and, with their specialties, they can give certain buffs to the ships they are equipped to. They can be equipped to any ship, players can equip any number of them they want as long as they are unique in department with senior officers. Meaning you can't have something like a Missiles Chief and a Missiles Officer on the same ship.
3. Senior Officers: These are the head guys on the ship, these guys control the action from the CIC and send the orders down to the crew. These can also be equipped to any ship and give buffs as well. Players can equip any number of them to one ship but, like the Crew Chiefs, they are unique in department with the Specialized Crew Chiefs.
4. Legendary Admirals: These guys are hardened from battle, have many years experience and can aid you well. These guys will have a special location on your flagship to be equipped, and players can only control 1 at a time. Legendary Admirals must be globally unique as these are real people. If another player plays a second Admiral of the same name as another player the newest one must be sacrificed. Players will be able to retire their Admiral anytime during their main phase as long as he's readied, sending the card to the scrapyard, then play another one. Retired Admirals go to their owner's scrapyard.
5. Special Agents: These will go along with the whole CIA control aspect build into the game. These guys can only be deployed if you control one of the CIA resource cards. They have abilities that can be used against players to help control the battlefield. Players can have as many Special Agents in the battlefield as they wish and just get equipped to your flagship.
